Ballet Levels 1 & 2
In our Ballet Levels 1 & 2, we focus on strengthening our basic ballet technique. We approach bettering our technique like stacking blocks, each block must be stacked and centered before moving onto the next block. It is our focus that our students understand the French ballet terminology and perform the basic ballet steps. We prioritize stretching, strengthening, and lengthening our muscles. Lastly, we also want to encourage our younger students to be imaginative and love what they do! Each class ends with a time of free dance and reverence to worship and give glory to our heavenly Father.
Ballet Levels 3 & 4
In these levels, students begin to understand the skills and work it takes to train in the genre of ballet. Level 3 ballet is a crucial stage in which the students begin stretching and strengthening their feet as well as learning coordination through their movement. To advance their technique and skills they are taught the different directions of turning and waltzing. They are also given longer combinations to extend their memories.
In Ballet level 4 the students are given steps that will further they’re foot flexibility and strength for pointe. We continue teaching students how to do multiple turns as well as bigger and more intricate jumps. The students are taught the movement of the upper body, head, arms, and shoulders that are greatly involved in ballet. This is also an age where the students should begin to understand the technique and details that come with the genre of ballet.
Ballet Levels 5-6
In our Ballet Levels 5 & 6, we encourage our students to push themselves to a higher level of technique. As teachers we give personal corrections, but we also want to see our students take accountability and work for the betterment of themselves, and to the glory of God. In these highest levels, we pursue more challenging steps, and push ourselves for multiple turns, elevated expectation, and grander jumps. Students can expect to be pushed beyond their normal limits, while knowing that each teacher cares and loves them. Lastly, in these highest levels, teachers help shape the student’s abilities to add their own artistry to their dancing. We want each movement to have meaning behind it. Whether we are telling a story or conveying different emotions, we always seek to give God all the glory!
